The Tri Hita Karana (THK) Forum for Sustainable Development with the theme “Blended Finance and Innovation for Better Business Better World” was first held 9-11 October 2018 around the IMF WB Annual Meetings in Bali. Endorsed by the President Joko Widodo, the THK Forum serves as a timely platform to showcase the use of innovative and blended financing not just for Indonesia but also for other emerging markets in general, linking innovation and technological breakthroughs to help put the SDGs in reach.

The THK Forum is jointly organised by the Government of Indonesia, United In Diversity (UID) Foundation, International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), Global Blended Finance Taskforce (child program of Business and Sustainable Development Commission), and UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN).

PURPOSE

The THK Forum aims to align global action for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on mobilizing private capital and innovation for the SDGs in Indonesia and the region.

The THK Forum will act as a platform to showcase and celebrate major SDG related commitments, announcements and milestones in the region to drive sustainable development.  Key themes for the THK Forum include oceans, food and sustainable landuse, women, sustainable infrastructure (including energy), innovation, resilient cities, green finance and better policy to mobilise large scale capital for the SDGs.

The THK Forum is intentionally outcome-oriented, but it will also be intimate to allow for genuine interaction and discussion amongst participants to explore solutions to encourage more investment and innovation for high quality, climate-resilient and inclusive sustainable development in the region. Its community comprises senior levels of government, entrepreneurs, development banks, international donors, investors, project developers, business and NGOs.
