Coord. Minister Airlangga Hartarto Visits Future Site of Indonesia Financial Center in Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone

Instagram @airlanggahartarto_official — Today (2 May 2026), I was with the Minister of Investment and Head of BKPM, Mr. Rosan Roeslani, and the Chief Operating Officer of Danantara Indonesia, Mr. Dony Oskaria, to directly review the planned location for the construction of the Indonesia Financial Center (IFC) in Bali.

The presence of IFC is part of the government’s strategic steps in reviewing the establishment of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) for the financial sector in Bali. This initiative is directed to strengthen the competitiveness of the national financial services industry, while encouraging Indonesia to play a more active role at the global level.

The Kura Kura Bali SEZ is designed as an integrated ecosystem that supports the operations of international financial centers. Through the development of the Business Hub, this region will become a meeting point for various strategic initiatives, including the Global Blended Finance Alliance (GBFA) program, business education institutions, and leading investment pathways in Indonesia.

In addition, the Knowledge District area will be strengthened with the presence of an Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center. This facility not only provides quality education like the ACS Bali intercultural school, but also encourages the development of coastal environmental research through the International Mangrove Research Center (IMRC).

We also visited Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali, the first open-air luxury outlet development project in Bali which is located in the Kura-Kura SEZ area. Sira Village is scheduled to hold a soft opening in the middle of this year. This area carries the concept of the first open-air luxury outlet in Bali, which is expected to be able to become a new attraction for tourists and investors. The participation of global investors such as Mitsubishi Estate is a strong signal of international confidence in the region’s long-term prospects.

The Kura Kura Bali SEZ affirms its readiness as a strategic partner of the government in realizing President Prabowo Subianto’s vision. In the future, Indonesia, especially Bali, is projected to become a new center of gravity for global capital flows, talents, and innovations.
