OVERVIEW

The International Finance Facility for Education (IFFEd): An innovative public private partnership aims to unlock at least $10 billion of new funding to scale financing for education in lower-middle-income countries (LMICs) as they transition towards a digital economy.

  • The IFFEd is led by the Education Commission collaborating with countries, multilateral development banks, and partners around the world to mobilize more and better investment in education, through a combination of catalytic grants and guarantees to help close the massive education financing gap in LMICs without reducing international donors’ existing support for education in low-income countries or humanitarian settings.

High Touch High Tech (HTHT) For All Initiative

  • Evidence shows that personalized learning aided with technology enables teachers to ‘Teach at the Right Level (TARL)’ and improves learning outcomes at scale especially for the marginalized.
  • The HTHT learning approach combines AI-assisted adaptive learning (High Tech) with personalized teaching and the cultivation of students’ higher order skills and socio-emotional growth (High Touch).

Successful HTHT prototypes to improve literacy in Indonesia supported by Ministry of Education in cooperation with network of Teachers Training Institutes and Tanoto Foundation can be scaled with support from IFFEd.
